Roads, Traffic & Getting Around
Traffic needs to be managed as a system, not one complaint at a time.
Ward 10 keeps growing, but recurring traffic problems are often experienced one intersection or one street at a time.
The goal is a visible priority list that combines resident experience with available traffic, speed and collision information, then moves each legitimate concern through the right municipal process.
The Action Plan
Build a Ward 10 Traffic Action List
Within my first 100 days, compile recurring congestion, speeding, crossing and school-zone concerns using resident input alongside available traffic, speed and collision data. Publish the list and its status.
Request Signal and Intersection Reviews
Where congestion repeatedly occurs, push for the appropriate technical review of signal timing, turning movements, pedestrian timing, traffic volumes and intersection design.
Target Speeding with Evidence
Support traffic-calming and safety measures where conditions justify them, while checking that a solution does not simply shift the problem onto a neighbouring street.
Prioritize School Routes
Work with schools, residents, City staff and enforcement partners on unsafe crossings, visibility, drop-off congestion and speeding around schools.
Coordinate Construction Better
Push for clearer advance communication and better coordination of road, utility and development work so closures do not unnecessarily compound one another.
Match Growth with Infrastructure
On major development files, ask whether surrounding roads, intersections, pedestrian connections and transit capacity can reasonably support the additional demand.
What Residents Should Be Able to See
Priority List
Residents can see which corridors, intersections and school-zone issues made the Ward 10 Traffic Action List.
Status & Next Step
Each significant issue has a visible status — identified, data requested, under review, scheduled or completed.
Implemented Changes
The dashboard clearly distinguishes a study or request from a change that has actually been approved and implemented.
